Mystery brooch

I picked this brooch up today at an estate sale, not much information. The estate sale folks believe it is victorian era Egyptian but I don't think it's Egyptian. Any information about this piece would be greatly appreciated, I know nothing about jewelry

Like your Broach.

Not sure I can help much, I don't think broach depicts anything Egyptian, I would be looking at Greek or Roman, one of the deities/goddesses of plants/vine/agriculture, Pomona-Roman, Gaia-Greek.

Is that a wine goblet depicted?

It's vintage but not sure its Victorian.

Thank you for the reply, it gives me a direction to go. Can you help me with dating it by the hinge and pin? The clasp I can find but I can't figure out the hinge side. Thanks again

I think it's from the Arts and Crafts period.....btw, one of my favorite periods. What a great brooch. I would have snapped it up in a flash!
I think yours would be called a "sash pin/brooch" possibly from the 1910-1918 period. Often a cabochon was added to the brooch. The cabochon in your brooch could be a glass cabochon or possibly a genuine semi precious gemstone. I probably would have to see it and check it to know for sure on that. Here is a sash brooch from that period that was online. yours looks like it might be brass and you can check that with a magnet. A magnet will not stick to brass. Some brooches were made from copper, too.
