Need help dating this Dior wool coat

Hey, I'm new so I hope this is the right place to post this.

I have this (supposedly) Dior coat that I bought at the flea market about five years ago. I found this website while I was trying to date the coat, so I'd really appreciate your help! Thanks

Hi Oxygenmolekule and welcome to the forums.

I looked up the RN number on your tag: it's registered to Cidat USA, of 7 West 57th St NYC. Then I looked up the company details (see here) and it looks like they were registered between 1980 and 1994.

From your photos, especially of the detailed labels, I would expect this garment to be made in the early '90s.

Interesting that the sleeves are so short: that's very unusual. I wonder if it was altered to fit a lady of short stature?

I think early-mid 80’s, this style became more exaggerated throughout the 80’s, with larger shoulders and more flare to the skirt part. The sleeves could have been taken up but sleeve were often 7/8 length too.
