need help to identify this (bakelite )

can you help identify this ,,, pretty sure its bakelite ,,, it has a little handle on top and
on the sides 4 slots 3 and 1 ,, the bottom one is wider ...

by far the best test to determine if an item is bakelite is a sniff test, and/or the simichrome test.

as far as what it is, I don't know, but someone here may.

Patrick, I had something similar looking -- for holding little hors d'oeuvres knives. I'm not sure if that's what you have though.
