New C&C Tidbits now up!

Hi all

Just to let you know that Corsets and Crinolines has a new Tidbits article called The Old Corset shop showcasing the golden age of corsetry shops in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Enjoy! :)

How neat, Lei. Thanks for putting this on the web! Love the old pictures.

Ooh - i like those tidbits!

I enjoyed the postcards, photos, and history a lot. :)

And look at all those little drawers...they must have had a zillion different sizes.

They did come in a lots of sizes! :) I think buying a corset in the Victorian and Edwardian era was probably a lot more easier than buying a bra today!
Manufacturers made them in different lengths for "short", "average" and "tall" heights and then in different "strengths" combinations for if you were of a "slight", "average" (which emcompassed a WIDE weight range) or "stout" figure (which was considerably heavier than what we think as overweight today).
LOL, PLUS you had the waist placement option for if you were long or shortwaisted so there no matter how odd your figure, you were sure to find a corset to fit.
