Someone took your name, deleted one of the "o"s and is using it as one of those stupid search-landing pages. I wonder how many people misspell your name and end up there?

You could try "grabbing" it when it expires. You can set up a domain registrar to automatically grab it when it expires on 1/10/08...You're lucky, because sometimes these yahoos will buy the domain for 10 years. :(

When I changed my links I accidentally misspelled it!! I have never done that before. How do you know this expires in January? And where to do I go to get a registrar to grab it? It freaks me out a bit!! Ang
 
I have used Yahoo, but most recently I used GoDaddy, and I have to say that I love them. They have a telephone number that you can call and immediately speak to a real, live, in-the-USA person. How cool is that?!

Go to Godaddy.com. Enter the domain you want to register. It will tell you that it's already taken. Now, if you want to find out who owns it and when it expires, click on the "Click here for info" link next to "Dortheasclosetvintage.com is taken." That will take you through some steps, but in the end it will show you all the information about the domain, including when the current registration expires. It's called doing a who-is search.

To grab the domain, you will need to be on the screen that says "Dortheasclosetvintage.com is taken." It will have a box to click for "Backorder Now." Click that box, then scroll down and click on the "continue" button. It will take you through the steps to try to grab the domain.

The steps are similar for Yahoo or any of the other companies.
