NEW TO THE FORUMS? Please introduce yourself here! 2025

Hi/Kia Ora, my name is Belinda
"The chic of it" from Aotearoa/NZ
LOVE vintage . I'm a mad opshopper/thrifter & have been lucky enough to find some absolutely fabulous pieces. (50'-70's NZ designers)
Sell mostly at markets, looking to sell online! Excited to part of VFG forum!
Nga mihi for the invite x
Hi Belinda! Welcome to the forums. Do you have a favorite vintage NZ designer?

HELLOOOOO!!!! I am so excited to be here as a member. Just getting around to poking through the new areas of the site, and hoping I can add value for everyone. I'm located in snowy Syracuse, NY, which also happens to be the birthplace of the fellow in my profile photo. His name is "Kenneth"...just Kenneth...and he is the originator of the bouffant hairstyle. I've got reams of material on him, and hope to offer an essay sometime in the near future.

Oh, and I've got some cool vintage, as well. I've been collecting since I was a teen (and I'm a retiree, now, so...it's a lot). I thrift, go to estate sales, visit flea markets and antique stores...and I sew from vintage patterns. My favorite part of collecting and selling is what I learn along the way.

Nice to meet you all!

:)

-Gina.

Hi Gina! Welcome. So glad to have you here. Former Upstate New Yorker here ;) My brother is somewhat near you … he owns a bakery/ cafe in Waterville, NY. I’d love learn more about Kenneth!

Hi Gina. Would love to see some of your favorite items you have collected.

Hi I am Suziesue and I have been thrifting on and off for over a decade. When i find a piece I sell it on-line. Great to have found this much needed forum for all things vintage. It will be great to share any interesting finds and learn from others.

Hi! I’m Steph, located in Sydney Australia. I love thrifting (or ‘op shopping’ as it’s commonly referred to here).

I’ve been slowly building a collection of vintage clothes and shoes for last decade and I’m so excited to have found this forum! I love seeing what others find and I can’t wait to share some of my treasures.

Hi! It's wonderful to meet everyone. I am an actress and a singer, and in my free time I love sewing and collecting vintage clothes. It's a passion of mine that started during the pandemic

I’m Beth. I don’t know how many remember me but I was once a member under the name Bijou Vintage.
Beth!! So good to see you here! I actually sent you (or at least I think it was you) a DM via Facebook a few months ago to encourage you to circle back around here.

BTW your BijouVintage profile still exists, as Alumni. If you would like to re-activate it for posting and need help with passwords or whatever, please DM me or Jolene @BlackLotusVintage here.

Hello, I'm Shani (Shano :)) and I adore anything vintage and antique. I collect a vast variety of things... Stamps, antiques, anything Egyptian, vintage clothing, to name but a few. I love coming across new things and researching the heck out of them; everything is so interesting and has its own story!

Hello,
My Name is Sylvia. Recently came across vintage lingerie. I have come across Olga Full sweep nightgowns and I'm wondering about the hem stitching. I've come across different stitching for the hems and I'm curious to know if there are different hem stitches used. Or, what does the actual hem stitch look like. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
