NEW TO THE FORUMS? Please introduce yourself here! 2025

I feel v stupid because I can’t figure out if this is how I introduce myself? Anyway: I thrift constantly and find great stuff all the time. Today I found a purse that may be something? Orangey leather, seems Italian, seems either 70s or early 2000s; intact striped yellow and orange and brown cotton liner. Exterior elastic pockets.

but I can’t find any reference to the logo which is a conjoined Lowercase m and u. Anyone have any ideas? I posted pics.

Hello, I have been into vintage clothing since at an early age, have a dress collection from the 1940s and 1950s including tops and skirts. Recently got into to the American Civil War era,1861 to 1865 which I am starting to love already

Started with a grandmother's dress I tried on in my teens. A part time MTF crossdresser since the age of 10, I was 17 when I tried that dress on and loved it

Hi I'm Roxann:I've joined looking for a community who knows about vintage handbags, wallets, jewelry & designer clothing. I collect unique items & spend too much time researching my collection we live in California on the central coast. Love my Yorkie, my garden & our home.

Hi everyone, we're a small historic village in New Zealand and now run a website where we sell vintage and high-quality items to raise funds for the village. We don't receive any grants because we don't want to be controlled by corporations. Often, funding is conditional.

We regularly have schools visiting us and we show them what life was like in the old days.

The children and adults dress up in period costumes, when they arrive. The children then go to our school, where they learn to write on a slate and with ink pens. They then fetch water from a hand pump using metal buckets and bring it to the laundry, where they wash with soap and washboards. We also have a printing shop with an Albian printing press from 1875. Children and adults are enthusiastic about our program. However, as mentioned, we operate on a tight budget.

We all love what we do and would greatly appreciate your help in learning more about vintage clothing so that we can provide accurate information on our website.

Thanks,
Christine

Hi, I just signed up as a guest. I taught a Vintage Shopping class at FITNYC for many years. Am retired now but still do occasional shopping tours in resale and secondhand shops in NYC via a local Adult school.
I have a collection of vintage and mainly sell on eBay currently. Still love the hunt for the one of a kind collectible clothing or accessory item (love handbags). Thanks for allowing me to share here. Excited to meet everyone and share experiences.

Hi Christine,
What is the name of your website?
Would love to check it out.

BTW please correct me if I wrote something wrong. I am learning as I go. And thanks for supporting us. There is information about our little village and our programs. We also have a printing shop now but there is no information about it on the website yet.
Thanks,
Christine
