I have been approached to act as as expert witness four times (all shoes), and I have been deposed twice, but only once did it go to court, but I wasn't needed to testify - just my research was used.
The woman who wrote the article was a good writer (despite some very obvious mistakes in the copy that weren't caught before publishing). I like how she says a lot without saying everything... although the lion and lamb thing isn't quite true...
