Long-time VFG member Lizzie Bramlett has a terrific blog (Thevintagetraveler) and I wanted too share her most recent report about her visit to the Art Institute of Chicago. Like Lizzie, I associate batik with the 60s and 70s, but the exhibit she saw and shared is of batik textiles from Java, Indonesia, which is where the banking process was developed.
