Piano Shawls - Is this a shawl for an upright piano?

Hello Fashionistas,
I've had this item for a while. It's really beautiful, and I think I have been avoiding parting with it. I assumed it was a wrap, although it's very long - 2.5 metres. I was telling my husband about it over dinner tonight just prior to listing it, and telling him about piano shawls and their desirability, and he said would it be a piano shawl for an upright piano? Unlike me, he's always been a lateral thinker. It certainly looks as though it could be, it's the right size. So, these are my questions:

1. Could this be a piano shawl for an upright piano? Is there such a thing?
2. Does this make it more or less rare?
3. And more or less desirable?

That is so beautiful. I've never understood why a piano would want or need a shawl (calls to mind clothing for cats). But I see your point about it being right for an upright.

That is what I thought initially, but the idea of the piano shawl intrigued me.
