plastic zipper - but earlier dress?

So... is this 80s does 50s perhaps? It's got that 50s Hawaiian wrap style going for it. Zipper is a plastic Talon, so leaning later but could be 60s? Looks like the tag was removed next to the zipper. Confused on this one! Any thoughts? Thanks!

It's a great dress - I wonder if the zipper has been replaced or it's just a very good reproduction. Could you post a pic of where the tag was?

I think it is 80s. As a matter of fact I have a dress by Morgan Taylor from the 80s with an extremely similar print and the exact same ribbed fabric as your dress. Mine has a halter bodice w lapels, backless, and full skirt but the fabric is almost exactly the same.

Going against the grain here, the zip and dress looks fine for an early 60's garment to me. Nylon zips were certainly around by then, if more unusual.

Can you show the hem and the seams?

I will take a photo of my 1980s Morgan dress. I dug it out of my closet just now and it appears to be the exact same fabric, weave and pattern.For what its worth, my dress also has a tag "dry clean only".

Ohhhh great! This is the EXACT same fabric but in pink! Awesome. So it's 80s does 50s then. Mine is missing all the tags unfortunately. Great job.

Happy to be able to help. Melanie, my dress does not have a zipper, it is a wrap style with the only closures being 2 buttons in front.
