Good Evening Ladies & gents,
NOW...I have found a lovely pair of harlequin 50s capri pants in a cotton corduroy

I have 44" hips and a considerably smaller waist 29-30" compared to my hips- I LOVE these capris but I dont want to draw attention to my widest areas, can you give me an honest opinion as to what you think of a curvy lady wearing these please??

Cute pants! I would recommend checking with the seller if "hips to 44"" means the capris are 44" or the person wearing them can be up to 44". You need at least an inch of ease, probably 2-3" is you want to be able to sit down.

Do you have a pair of non-stretch capris that fit you well in the hips? Go measure those to get an idea.

I would also ask for a front rise measurement to compare on your body. It looks like those are designed to sit at the natural waist, and if the rise isn't long enough, they won't fit right.

I think they are cute, but that print will DEFFINITELY draw attentionto your hips!

I agree with Maggie, I think you really need to check with the seller on the 44 inch hips. Sounds to me like they may be a bit snug. For me I like at least a few inches extra in the hip, of course I'm just an old broad who prefers comfort.

My girls are telling me I need to wear my pants tighter, I tell them at my age my butt is the last thing I am trying to show off!

About the pattern, I think its kinda optical illusiony and may very well distract rather then draw attention. With your waist to hip ratio you may very well be able to VaVaVoom them.

I've gotten several pairs of these high-waisted capris in the past couple of years, and have found that the ones with 2-3 extra inches in the hips, as Maggie suggests, are the ones that fit most comfortably AND flatteringly (is that even a word?)

Anyway, they are fab pants--can see why you like them!

Actually I don't think it would look so terrible it is a smaller print than what I had imagined, and the colors are muted compared to other harlequin pants I've seen and you can always balance your hips with a detailed shoulder top. like i wouldn't do a halter or strapless it would make you narrow up top and wider on bottom but more of a scoop neck off the shoulder to open up your shoulder area and draw attention to the shoulders that should help balance that out too or a cute angora sweater it fuffy sleeves or something to that sort.
