Lovely, really nice.

If genuine and your photos don't suggest otherwise, I would date it between 1967-1976.

For the life of me there is another word given to describe this type of bag but I can't remember what it is.

Just lovely and harks back to a fashion of the late 20s- 30s.

After my Mum died I found among her collection a compact with this designer's name in it and still have somewhere.

Much copied by others, really nice

I read online her first metal purse was created in 1967, so agree with avantbo. I would call it a box clutch, but perhaps there is a better term
