Pre 1900 Boots Shoes

I have aquired these boots on consignment and would like help dating them so I can sell them. They came with a shoe box with a penciled in note saying Grandfathers shoes when young men before 1900. The box is from Marshall Fields, but the shoes are tagged and labeled on the bottom Walter Hutchin, Decatur, ILL. I found an ad online showing that was a shoe store in Decatur, dating in the early 1900's, so I assume the box is not original to the shoes. I would have thought the shoes were womans since they have a very pointed toe, however the heel is more like a man's shoe. They are leather bottoms with a cloth top. You can see the tiny nails in the heels. Any help is appreciated. Thank you very much in advance!!

Nice pointy boots. I had a pair of these and they were about 1910 I think but the style is classic so someone more knowledgeable might put yours earlier. Let's see what others say.

nice pair! I think they are a young man's pair of boots, c. 1895-1900 is probably right. There was a fad for very pointed shoes right around then, and again in the c. 1918 - 1923 period, then 1957-1964 period, then 1982-1986.... it keeps coming back over and over... THat type of wool spat is usually moth eaten, so these are in pretty good shape.

Thank you so much for clarifying. I do not get to see items this old as a rule, so have not got the experience. And there did not seem to be any to compare with on the auction sites.
