When we hear the words "red carpet," one of the first images that comes to mind is the Academy Awards® with its glittering array of stars and their finery. First held in 1929 (and first televised in 1953), the Oscars® ceremony is an occasion for the Hollywood community to celebrate their achievements and also to dress up & strut their stuff on this most famous of red carpets. Our members celebrate the 88th Academy Awards® show this week with red-carpet-ready attire, including black tie and other men’s formal wear, glamorous evening gowns, elegant evening wraps, bags and shoes, and fabulous jewelry to top it all off — for those of us not lucky enough to borrow diamonds for the evening!
