Reptile peeptoes need help dating please

Back Street made in Italy size 8 N. Are these snakeskin and what do you all think on a date? Also, would it be safe to use a leather conditioner on them or best just to leave them alone? TIA

1970s and yes snakeskin, you can tell by the scales with edges that lift. Real has a more papery feeling than faux. I am not sure about using leather conditioner on them - as that is designed for a smooth skin and I would have thought you will just end up with lots of cream around the scales...

Cute shoes! There are leather conditioners made specifically for reptile skins. If you do some googling, you should be able to find a few different brands. There's also an old (2010) threadhttp://forums.vintagefashionguild.org/threads/leather-conditioner-any-recommendations.34200/ on this where Guild members recommend specific brands they liked/used.
