Very excited. New dress arrived in the post today.

It *does* fit me (major sigh of relief). :kiss2:

It is a Sambo - Hurrah!

It has all the design details of the Dolcis-Sambo campaign from 1964 (featuring Miss Pattie Boyd of course) when Dollyrocker was launched as a new type of dress by Sambo. :clapping:

AND it has a different label! (Which doesn't say Dollyrocker on it at all but does say Sambo on it)

:bouncing: :bouncing: :bouncing:

So needless to say I am very very happy and will be scanning the label and sending it very soon.

My new purchase from ebay

Very cool dress!! Maybe the trial or first round of designs before they got the Dollyrocker label finalized/sewn in everywhere??

:puzzled:

Needs to be added to your '60s life' modelling shots...

I stumbled acrossed a Dollyrockers dress on ebay one day and said "oh its ending soon...i wonder if Senti know!" and i looked down at the high bidder...and there you were. LOL

LOL! ...yes, self confessed Dollyrockers addict! If I think there's a chance it'll fit me and a chance it may suit me I just can't resist it. Have also in the past grabbed a few Sambo items that would never fit me in a million years and one Dollyrocker that really doesn't do a thing for me cos the colour and pattern are all wrong for me... but my habit isn't quite that bad right now. :-)

There's a couple of Dollyrockers on at the moment that I'm *trying* to resist.

- can't really get away with wearing this one round deepest darkest Yorkshire so I'd never get any use out of it, but I find it really lovely. Am unsure about the size so figure if I don't ask I won't know and therefore can easier resist buying it.

- Have one very similar to this in blue that I never ever wear apart from when I occasionally have to try it on cos it's caught my eye when I'm rooting through my wardrobe... so am trying to resist this one too... but maybe the colouring on this one would make it a little more wearable....?

- Couldn't resist returning this to the UK, and I can pretend to be all Pre-Raphealite or Venetian in this one. :-) ...so I weakened and bought it.

Deffinately can't resist the mid 60s ones though. I am powerless against a mid 60s Dollyrocker even if it won't fit me! LOL!

Just got in from work Lizzie but will scan the label shortly when I've had a cup of tea and a slice of cake to bring me round from the horrors of encountering the great british public at large. Yuck. SOmetimes I wish I worked in a dark cave in the middle of nowhere. LOL!

I did aquire a lovely Dollyrockers sundress recently, I think it's probably an easier to wear maxi because it's strappy!

Incidentally, I cam across ANOTHER Samuel Sherman label today. It was in a 60s knee length black velvet dollybird dress and this time it was 'The Dressmaker by Samuel Sherman'. Unfortunately it was priced at £22 and had a faint line around the dress about 5 inches off the hem so I didn't buy, but it really is getting beyond funny how many different labels this guy produced!

Gosh, another one?! Wow. I think he spent as much time designing new labels as he did designing frocks!!!

Oh well, I've approved of his clothing so far, so no doubt this will be another one for me to watch out for. :)

Do I have all these labels on the resource? (Please don't think I've lost my marbles, but I've got a lot going at the moment!)

Thanks Liz and Senti!
