I dread to wade into the "ambiguous handmade unlabelled scarf" waters again :-D but am wondering what people's thoughts are on this beauty.
It's a lightweight silk (I believe) crepe. The fringe is quite heavy. It looks like someone chopped off two pieces of a larger fringed shawl and hand-sewed them together in the middle and minisculey hand-sewed around the edges to keep it from unravelling.
My thoughts are it might be a 20s remake of an older, larger shawl/scarf to make one of the long skinny scarves that were fashionable in that decade. But I don't know if I'm way off.
