More than one person has commented about "you don't want to know where I keep all the stuff!" so I thought I would come right out and ask. Where is it??
Where do you keep your vintage? Your collection especially, but stuff for sale too if you are a seller? Crammed into every nook of your house? In the middle of your living room for the world to see?
I collect and sell. I have some of my vintage handbags that are keepers displayed in my home. My husband found a wrought iron book shelf at an estate sake for my office and I use them as decorative pieces/book ends. I did see a picture of one house where someone had purses hung up on pegs like pictures all over the wall. I am bold, but not that bold.
I also have the rest of my collection (purses) in hat boxes in the bedroom closet. One or two are more or less displayed because its a walk-in with a nice top shelf. I have a hat or two on hat stands in their as well.
I have an Anne Fogarty Leaf scarf I have draped acrossed a 50s danish modern cocktail table I have in my office as well.
(but only books, no beverages on that table so no fear of ruining it!)
As far as clothes....I wear everything that I collect on that end, and they are (snore, snore, boring) hanging in my closet as well as my strange assortment of mod metal belts...the chain kind...and my scarves are in a train case. I have my shoes in an old wooden wine rack on the top shelf of my closet to prevent my canine children from having any thoughts cross their mind
As far as stuff I sell, it is all in a designated closet...hanging...and in boxes and storage containers in my office.
Of course, i have my collection of deco perfume bottles on a cabinet shelf, but that would be the more obvious choice to display out in the living room in a lighted case vs clothing...but you never know... I may just look at all my mod belts one day and say "hey...i got an idea! Mod metal chain belts = curtain tiebacks!" yeah right. That will be a hit won't it?
Alright...now someone else's turn....
Chris
