Oh Wow just gorgeous. That harlequin Pucci is great!! And the Valentino is just so wonderful I love the cut on it!

But the Patou just takes my breath away. So wispy. Can we see more of the top embroidery and do you know what that embroidery is called. I have never seen any like it. Can see a bit in the label shot. Looks so loose like its just laid on top of the fabric.

Oh my, Jonathan, you have outdone yourself. Love those Pucci's, Valentino coat, bee print dress...well, I just love it all.

You wonderous creature!! WOW!! And in my order of WOWness and want:

1 - The Patou
2 - The Valentino
3 - The BEE DRESS

I am usually running opposite of the crowd and my top three shows it!! (I guess because everyone wants a pucci, I don't! I have several and eventually will sell them but they just don't do it for me any more!??)

Well, I have listed them all on the VC-mall, so let's hope there is interest in them!
I am not sure of my prices, some might be too low, others too high, but I don't trust eBay anymore! The Valentino coat is superb. The quality just oozes from every seam and thread. It works well with my Beene skirt too!
Pauline -- the embroidery is actually beadwork. If this were true couture, the beads would be sewn on by hand, but as it is an adaptation, they are sewn on by machine, so the threads you are seeing on the back by the label are the threads holding the beadwork in place.
Maureen -- I agree with you on Pucci. I own 4 in my collection, a 1960 Roman streets patterned silk dress (so that covers his early work), a 1966 Harem pant dress, a c. 1969 silk jersey evening dress, and a mid 1970s velveteen pantsuit. I like his stuff, I think its clever, but generally speaking, I would rather have something else instead. However, I would LOVE to have one of the Braniff stewardess uniforms. I am still kicking myself because parts of the uniform used to show up on eBay with regularity (all but the bubble helmet which was the property of the airlines, not the stewardesses), but I kept holding out for a complete uniform from one stewardess who was willing to sell the whole thing. Well now the bits that come up sell for 8 times what they used to! I need to stop looking for the holy grails of fashion, and settle for the nice bits when they come along, replacing them if I get the holy grails...
 
That is a stunning group of finds.

I know what you mean about the holy grails. I constantly remind myself to adjust to what is actually out there, not what I wish was out there.

It is! I'm with Maureen, too. My top choice is the Valentino coat; my second is the Patou dress; third is the bee dress. The Valentino coat is just HAUNTINGLY beautiful. Sigh. I've long thought I'd be really good at spending money if I had it. Perhaps I should just shoot for a spot on The Price Is Right. :D

Oh Jonathan, what wonders!!!! I adore the Valentino!!!! I think his work is incredible and I love the Dior as well. I guess I'm a very tailored type of woman. The Patou is a jewel.
I agree about Pucci. For my personal wardrobe, they just aren't "me". I remember my first trip to New York, in 1969, when we flew Braniff. The stewardess' (as they were called then) were wearing the Pucci outfits with the helmets. Oh my gosh, I was in heaven...it all seemed so chic and exciting!!!! That was my first glimpse of the great big fashion world.
