Sprechen Sie Deutsch?

I just got returned a sweater I had mailed to Frankfort, Germany. Postage cost $34.50 and the buyer was OK with that. The mailing address was "Hermes Shop", which made me feel secure. There is a small green sticker that says - "Von zollamtilcher Behandlung befreit Deutsche Post Nt. Ip. Frankfurt-Flughafen."

and an orange larger sticker with "Zuruck" in big letters and the box is checked off for "Auslieferung der Zustelungskraft of rem kiebezettel gepruft."

Huh?

I asked to my brother in law who lives in Berlin. Here the italian traslation " esente da trattamento doganale poste tedesche (sigla) aeroporto di Francoforte" and
" indietro"for the stickers " of rem" is not a deutsch word " consegna del corriere verificata dalla bolla adesiva". I can try an English traslation

Exempt from customs Deutsche Post...()... Frankfurt Airport .
For the stickers the traslation is "back"

delivery courier verified (of rem) by the adhesive receipt
I hope have a sense and can help

Hermes is a parcel carrier that has come up in the last 10 years or so, as an alternative to state post. Big in Germany and Austria. The first stick means that it was exempt from customs fees - and that it went through customs at Frankfurt Airport. Zurück just means back. The next one... I think there's a typo here. Not quite sure what it should actually say... " Auslieferung (delivery) der Zustellungskraft (I think that means the postman) of (auf?) rem (should maybe meand "dem" ?) kiebezettel (?? - doesn't make sense) gepruft (checked)." Seems like something was checked by the person who should have delivered it, but something went wrong... do you have a pic of the sticker? That might help in making sense. I'm asking myself it maybe it wasn't picked up? Maybe the recipient was notified to pick it up but didn't pick it up?

Oof - and I thought it was going to a store that sold Hermes, or something along that line. I have a feeling the second stamp says - no such address - and I copied the address straight from Paypal.

Yes, now it makes more sense. The first sticker says that the note of the postman/delivery person on the sticker had been checked, and the second one says that they could not find the delivery address and that the address should be checked. So the he orange sticker just confirms that someone checked that there was really no such address - there's thoroughness for you :).
So something with that address wasn't correct... you'd have to check with the buyer. If you want to, you can convo me the address and I could check on the Hermes website if it really exitsts... it's very strange to think that it could not be delivered to something like a Hermes shop.
