Stainless unbranded Handbag 1980s, more info?

Hi! I purchased this handbag in a Vintage shop in NJ. The seller is a handbag collector. The only info provided was it was from the 1980s. Fell in love, very well made. Zero markings at all. Sides are black leather. Google image search came up empty. Would love any info on this bag!

Great bag. I'd remember if I saw anything like that in the '80s so it's a pity there are no markings. It's quite special.

Thank you. The Google image search returned one of her bags. Maybe this was one of her earlier designs and why not branded? I’ve reached out to find out.

@denisebrain TYSM for the lead. I'm thrilled to report this handbag IS one of Wendy Steven's early designs! Here is her reply to my email (with photos):

Yes, you have one of my very early bags! And I am still making after 38 years!
It is called "la borsetta" which in Italian means the handbag.
I believe I made it in the 1990's and as I wasn't etching my logo in the bags at that early stage, I think it may have had a detachable leather logo tag on it.
It is made of perforated stainless steel with leather gussets, all hand fabricated by me.
I am happy to see it again and that it is in good hands!
