Stuff for keeps... add yours!

I am trying to make myself take pictures every now and then of some of my vintage stuff to share, and never usually get around to it (this reminds me that I have failed to photograph utility suit for Jonathan - apologies and will do so asap..) so here are two 'keepers'.

Lei was with me when I got this at auction and we both thought this was late 20s, or maybe early 30s? Fine wool over pink silk crepe lining in bodice.








And you may or may not know that I quietly collect Dorothy O'Hara dresses that are usually whisked away into my wardrobe before the camera even gets a sniff of them! Here's one, sorry about the crease on the skirt.



Anyone else bought something they have to keep all to themselves lately?

LOL, yup all the time! In fact most of the antique corsets in my collection were bought originally to resell but end up whisked away into my collection. The fringe dress that I wore to Bristol was bought to resell until I tried it on as were the shoes AND stockings I was wearing with it too!!!:BAGUSE:

I forgot how lovely that jumper is that you got though. The pink cardigan one I saw at Bristol was the same length too. They had 1920's on that one but I think they are cuspers- late 20's- very early 30's too.

Ooooooo, I love the Dorothy O'Hara, my colours... I can see why you collect her.

I hang on to sentimental stuff mostly. My most cherished piece of clothing is my father's cardigan vest that I tucked away in a drawer after he died many years ago. A button is still pinned to it - he was waiting for me to come back from Toronto to sew it on. And a leapard print beatnik outfit from the lady responsible for starting me on my vintage voyage - she loved it so much it's pretty much threadbare at the knees, but it hangs proudly on a wall in my main clothing room.
 
Oh yes..one of mine is this amazing chiffon 60's strapless Mike Benet. It did make it on the manni...and then right back off into my closet just waiting for an occasion!<p>
