Stunning Szor Diener fur

I was just gifted this amazing fur, but I live somewhere warm and know nOTHING about furs. I’ve always wanted one, it just didn’t make sense to purchase. To me the cut could be anywhere from 40’s-80’s, but the lining makes me think it’s on the later side?

Also any tips on how to care for and store this would be amazing since I do live somewhere humid.

How old do you think this is and what kind of fur? It is extremely soft.

Thanks!!

Hi Emma,

Very pretty and if that's you, you wear it very well. The fur type is muskrat. It's been crafted skin on skin and diagonally throughout the sleeves. The blended coloration of the guardhair is natural as is the grey underfur which is visible at the roots. I would date it to the earlier portion of the 80s.
When caring for your fur you can prolong the life by storing it in a cool spacious area away from light, moisture, scents, and other pollutants.

Thank you! Yes, I’m wearing it in the photo. I was wondering if it was muskrat, it didn’t look like the usual fox/mink to me. Time to wear it styled 40’s for the holidays!!!!

I was in Szentendre Hungary some years ago.
I had to look up the name of the company who created your fur SZOR...

This interesting article from 1977 came in the search. It tells a bit of the furrier.
