Let's celebrate Australia Day like an Aussie! Australia Day on January 26th commemorates the arrival of the first fleet of Convicts to Australian shores in 1788. It is a unique holiday as it also has deep significance for indigenous Australians for whom the date is more a day of mourning.
Most non-indigenous Australians simply enjoy the day with backyard barbeques or a trip to the beach. So celebrate the day like an Aussie would, and head to the beach for this Parade. Members present their best swimwear, resort daywear, sunglasses, sun hats, sandals, shorts, beach cover-ups, beach towels or umbrellas and surfing related accessories, this week.
