Symbol sleuths help please. Non clothing.

Found this little box today and had to buy it as I have no idea what this symbol is for. My luck it will be the Plumber's Union or something equally thrilling!

Thanks for any help.

I don't know Bonnie, but the image in the olive green bit of the star has me a little bit... <i>concerned</i>! :D

(sorry!)

I wish I knew, too. Tee hee, Carolyn! :o I thought the symbol in the green part looked like a candle--maybe for fire, as cups typically correspond to water and swords to air. Could whatever that is in the yellow part represent earth? Is it a bunch of broccoli? LOL. My gut-reaction guess would be that the symbol in the white might represent mastery over the others.

Could you turn the pic round, so that the crown is at the bottom? I want to see if those funny whatsits look more like anything the other way up & I'm getting a crick in my neck!

red one looks like a chalice or high ball glass to be. green looks like a candle. cream one is either a hat and wand/cane/sceptre or a drum and a drumstick ??

Melanie (Route66gal) told me that it is the symbol for the Order of the Eastern Star, the world's largest fraternal organization.

For those curious about the smaller symbols within, I found this info.

<i>"Each point on the star has an emblem of a different biblical heroine (Adah, Ruth, Esther, Martha, and Electa) and the qualities they represent- fidelity, constancy, loyalty, faith, and love."</i>

You learn something new everyday!!

Thought it was something Masonic and it is; the Order of the Eastern Star is the ladies' auxiliary for the Masons (who can eventually become Shriners too).
