I guess these would be rhinestones..one is a light blue in color and the other has purple stones. Do you think 50s and what are good key words for something like this? I can find no markings. I think they would look beautiful on a vintage coat or jacket.

TIA

Linda, I'm terrible dating jewelry, but both are really pretty. I have a bunch of estate jewelry that I should start listing, but in many cases doen't have a clue if it is 30s, 40s, or 50s. (big help huh?)

Sue

Reminds me of pieces from my grandmother - 40's and 50's, but most is 50's. Nice settings. Are the stones clear, not cloudy? If they're foil-backed, are they all intact? Jewelry people are really sticklers.

The blue one appears to have a closure with the little tab that rolls to enclose the pin tip (does that make sense?). Older pins just hook, don't have that extra safety part.

Can't discern the closure on the other one.

Bren, both pins have the roll type clasp and I am thinking 50s. My Mom had some of these, too.
The stones are not cloudy but I did not clean them. Maybe I will go back and clean and take more pics. These really are nice pins. All the stones are intact. I've probably had these for about four years but never got around to selling. Will post better pics later.

Thanks.

Thanks, Bren, the blue one is going up tonight. Did some cutting and pasting with Carolyn's scans. What do you think(even though the size wouldn't be proportionate)?
