Unusual pendant

Hi everyone, I bought some jewelry recently, most was from early 20th century, this pendant was on a very long sterling silver chain (pendant is not silver). I have absolutely no idea what this pendant is or where it is from (has a hand etched 'D' on the reverse). Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated

 

It appears to be 1970s when the Egyptian trend of hieroglyphics came back into fad

If it's lightweight it may be aluminum and if it's a bit heavier it may be pewter.

 

Hi Bonnie, it is quite lightweight so I think you're right. My mind drew a blank and I was stuck on pewter, aluminum makes perfect sense. Thank you
