Upon closer inspection of this homemade dress....

I have more questions than answers. There's some really confusing things happening here, and I'm not a seamstress so i probably don't know proper terminology to use but the seams kinda look like they were thrown together last minute. . Impulse buy at thrift store because i loved the print. But is it a poorly constructed vintage dress? A stage costume? I believe it to be homemade, there's no labels to be found. The seams are absolutely baffling me though. It appears that the length of the sleeves was extended at some point. There are shoulder pads and pockets, elastic at the waist. Hoping someone will be able to take one look at the stitching and can tell me when it might have been constructed.... or what time period the dressmaker had in mind. Weird little oddball dress lol. 15537085229427638330083585011006.jpg 15537085639522316847713790821298.jpg 15537086675454926950475226242926.jpg

It looks middly 80s with vintage/antique buttons. If home sewn, she had a serger, or a serging ap on her machine and knew how to use it.
