Vegan Vintage

Sustainable, environmentally-responsible and cruelty-free, garments and accessories devoid of animal-derived materials are more popular than ever. With mega-stars like Billie Eilish pressuring mega-designer brands like Oscar de la Renta to ban fur from their collections, the demand for ethical fashion continues to challenge and shape the fashion world.

This week the VFG parades the very best in vegan vintage. Try on the trend wearing man-made materials, go green with plant-based items of cotton, hemp, straw and wood, flash those fabulous fakes like reptile-stamped pleather, and show off your wild side with animal prints and faux fur!

Some vegans will argue with you whether cotton is vegan. Unless its organic cotton, which is a tiny percentage of the cotton grown today, all cotton made since about 1920 when the boll weevil first decimated American crops, has been produced with excessive pesticides. So its really just linen, rayon, and synthetics that are vegan-friendly
