Hello lovlies.

I have this beautiful throw? shawl? which I believe is of Indian origin. It came with a lot I won at auction, all very beautiful hand loomed and embroidered items. I wonder if the colours or anything about the styling give any clues?

I think it may be Kantha because of the clear overstitching detail, but it is a single layer and not made up of pieces but seems to be especially designed as it is.

It depicts elephants and birds and a floral pattern. There are four outer circles, one to each corner and a central circle. The size is 96 inches by 41.5 inches...

Any specialists and/or knowledgeable pro's here have any pointers or info? Would be gratefully received.

You’re correct with the embroidery! Time pears could be early 2000’s, and it’s called a duppatta and would come two other garments, with be a top and bottom 3 piece set.
