Alessandro Michel, creative director of Gucci wowed both audiences and the fashion world alike with his visually striking and fresh 2016 Fall/Winter runway show entitled "Rhizomatic Scores." His flamboyantly, signature Maximalist style juxtaposes historic details, 1980s Italian & French couture, and street style. In his own words he described it as “Renaissance meets studio 54.”
This trend features loads of color, brocades, optical prints, fur trims, furs of all colors, quirky gowns, floral maxi dresses, biker jackets, sequins, beaded anything, band jackets, retro athletic wear, capes, ruffled blouses, brightly colored knits, tweed suits, bow blouses, tapestry fabrics, leather, applique, pleated skirts, quilted fabrics, over sized coats, and pant suits. It's all about the details: brightly colored accessories, turbans, net-veiled hats, wide brimmed fedoras, leather gloves, pearls, big Baroque statement jewelry, over sized sunglasses, platform shoes, wedge heels, Mary Janes, funky scarves, brightly colored tights or leg wear, round eye glasses, and leather handbags.
And of course ANYTHING Gucci!!
