Some of the 2017 Fall-Winter collections look to the traditional, many layered Matrioshka doll, this season. Like Russian's multi-layered culture, the designers who feature this look choose a mix of large scale florals, rich textures and fabrics. Cossack style coats and tall boots cozy enough for a Russian winter were also seen on runways from the likes of Gucci, Naeem Khan, and Kate Spade New York.
Doll up with opulent fabrics with luxurious textures: brocades, velvets, tapestry florals, rich furs (especially fur or fur-trimmed hats), jewel tones, embroidered details, billowy peasant blouses, knee-high boots, capes, smocked dresses, pinafores, lace collars, piano shawls, scarves, wraps, glittering baroque jewels, pearls, and of course, any Russian themed items. Vashe zdorov'ye Cheers!
