Designers voted whole-heartedly for a vintage plaid comeback on the runways for Fall. The bright plaids of the 1970s appeared as a breath of fresh air, and we're not talking grunge-flannel, here. Utilized in garments from overcoats to skirts, pants, shawls, hats, and even lingerie sets -- whether blanket plaid, tartans, or windowpane, the preference trended towards light-hearted examples full of color.
Marching orders for this parade: proudly display any classic plaid piece that could have inspired the current trend, but especially the bright, colorful shirts, hats, skirts, scarves & wraps, coats, belts from the 1970s era. And yes, plaid for men, too!
