The Renaissance is having a Renaissance! This spring, the designers of The Brock Collection, Khaite, and Priscavera are taking artistic cues from the European period of 'rebirth' following the Middle Ages—focusing on classical philosophy, literature and art. Clothing was a symbol of wealth and status—often flamboyant.

This week think fairy tale romance with a distinctly modern feel. Puffed sleeves, dramatic trains, lace-up corsetry, rich brocade fabrics, full princess skirts, oversized floral prints, pearls and large jeweled accessories, and gold and jewel-toned fabrics. Don't forget the historical artifacts for the gents—suits, pantaloons and outrageous hats!
