Hello all, would anyone be able to help me date this sweater? The info I have is it is labeled Inverness by Masket bros. This sweater was my mother’s who grew up in Chicago. My best guest? Mid to late 1950’s from Lord and Taylor but I am just guessing from what little info I’ve been able to get from the internet. 100% alpaca. No size tag or any other tags aside from the label at the collar. Thank you! 557F80E7-64C7-4894-AB1A-6BC0485A95CB.jpeg 9C6EDE69-9DA9-4EC3-9EC4-4899E06DFEE8.jpeg

This is a 1957 article about the new Inverness line...

...and as I reread the 1957 article, I was mystified by the expression "full-fashioned." So, is that as opposed to HALF-fashioned? :) Anyone know what that means?

  7. Fully fashioned means knitted in parts, with sleeves etc then sewn together.

Many stocking are described as fully fashioned.
