I found this today and would like to know what you think.

I am not sure of the fur, I am assuming mink?
It is very nice, no rips etc. It has outside pockets and is monogrammed on the inside.

In addition to the type of fur, I am trying to get an approximate date of this from the NM tag.

Thoughts?

Thank you!

Hi David, Really pretty coat, fur type, and a style I really like. It's summer time Ermine. It either dates to the late 40s or early 50s. Maybe we can narrow it down to one era, maybe not. Are there any straps sewn inside on the lining? Does the sleeve lining have elasticized cuffs inside the wrists?

Thank you.
I did not find any straps and I do not think the cuffs are elasticized. They are tacked up on both sides of the sleeve.
It's in great condition. It also has a hook and eye near the neck line.

Ok, thanks for those additional photos David. I asked if there were arm straps inside because those were popular in the 40s. I asked if there were elasticized cuffs in the sleeves because those were popular in the 50s. Either would have helped to more conclusively place this in one era vs the other.

Being neither feature is present I still feel this coat could still date from the late 40 to the early 50s but I lean towards early 50s because of the cuff style and because of the font on the Neiman- Marcus label.
