Let's say someone comes to my blog and they see the Vintageroadshow blog post with all of your links. And they are curious about your link, say on vintage brooches (I have no idea if you have a blog post like that, I just made it up). They would click on your link to go read the wonderful collection of brooches you wrote about on your blog!
A blog carnival is a way for members to share a collection of links with readers so that they can jump from blog to blog in the carnival.
Done on a weekly basis, it can bring more eyes to your blog, and in turn, your site because you are getting your content on more than just your own blog. Essentially, you have multliplied your chances of someone finding your blog by however many members we have because we will all be displaying the collection of links.
Right now, VFG displays your blog's link once and only your blogs. We would be displaying weekly, unique links to blog posts. Does that make more sense?
