Wanna feel REEEEEEEEEEALLY Old?

As mentioned I drive a manual transmission car- it's a six speed, but I remember 3 and 4-speed. I remember getting our first TV and both Eisenhower/Stevenson campaigns. I watched the Beatle's on the Ed Sullivan Show. I don't watch TV at all anymore - LOL, but during the heyday of Masterpiece Theatre I watched it all. Remember "The Forsythe Saga" and "Upstairs, Downstairs"?

I finished a wonderful biography of Irving Thalberg a few weeks ago. Mentioned it to someone who didn't know who he was.....even when I mentioned Norma Shearer.

Linn,

Oh yes!..I saw that bio on Thalberg a while back, quite interesting. It is scary to know that a young person does not know what the Holocaust was, the implications of that make me tremble!

The children's show where you placed plastic film over the TV and drew on it, was "Winky Dink"..and it had a song..."Winky Dink and me..Winky Dink and You, we have fun in fair and stormy wea....ther!" Or something like that.

God, where's my ortho shoes?

I regularly make comments to students that are returned with a blank stare;

One of the motorcycle exercises we teach is a blast - I refer to it as "our 'E' ticket ride"

They are surprised to find out Disney hasn't ALWAYS had Fast Pass and Park Hopper passes :rolleyes:

"What's a fast pass and a park hopper pass? lol"

Fast pass allows you to get your tickets for a ride like Space Mountain or Rock N' Roller Coaster for maybe an hour later and while you wait for that time slot to come up you can hop on a couple less popular rides or grab a bite to eat, etc. Then when you come back you get in the fast pass line and away you go.

Park hopper is so you can go to more than one park in a day. We did that when we wanted to spend half the day at the Magic Kingdom and the other half of the day at Animal Kingdom.

Anyone remember Chuck McCann on WPIX in NY playing Dondi, Orphan Annie, etc.? Or Officer Joe Bolton? Paul Tripp's Birthday House, Romper Room, and out in Phoenix, Arizona we had the Wallace and Ladmo Show?

I remember reading "Dondi" in the comics but not the show. I don't recognize or remember any of the other references except Orphan Annie. I think I just read that the strip is being retired.
