Wedding Dress Wanted for Feb 10!

Gary has finally decided to make me an "honest woman" on February 10 after being engaged for SIX YEARS! :D
But now I need a dress!! I had bought a dress in 2000 after we got engaged but now it's too big so now I need a new one (that one wil go on Ebay).
I'm looking for one in white, creme, tan, pink- any light color from the 50's/ 1960 with a full skirt and preferably princess seamed. I'm 5'9" and often find dresses with a waist seam too short waisted for me but princess seamed dresses are more forgiving to different heights. If you have a wedding dress with a waist seam that was made for someone tall though, I will consider it.

I've just stolen this pic from the homepage to show what sort of lines and style i'm looking for:

This is the babylon dress I bought:

And this is one I bought from Ebay a few weeks ago:

All have princess seaming and high waisted shelf type busts. Don't mind if the dress is completely princess seamed or shelf busted/princess seamed. Sleeves are preferred as it's a winter wedding but I will consider otherwise! :)

Don't care what fabric it is as long as the dress isn't too frou frou. Length doesn't matter either but knee length does suit me.

I'm not sure what my budget is as it will depend on the dress but I can't afford to pay hundreds and hundreds for a dress but I do understand that my size and requirements are kind of like gold dust so please let me know what price you want for it and I will see what Mastercard says! Don't mind if it need some repair or has some marks, the odd unobtrusive hole, or very light pit staining either (no dark yellow patches though).

My measurements are shoulders 16", Bust 40", underbust 32", Waist 30" (the underbust and waist can be corsetted down to fit into a dress with slightly smaller underbust and waist measurements as long as the bust will be ok), hips are 39", height 5'9".

If anyone has anything that they think would remotely do, please let me know.
Thanks a bunch!

Sorry cannot help with a dress

:clapping:Still Congratulation to the both of you.:clapping:

Congratulations!

I don't have much to offer in terms of practical help, but I can sympathise with you on the difficulties of finding the right clothes at 5'9" - I'm a shade under 5'10", and vintage isn't always kind to us!

Good luck on finding your dream outfit, part of a perfect day.

Thanks guys

I know what you mean Mojito, being tall is good but not so good when you are looking for your perfect vintage dress! LOL, just this once I'd like to be of "average" height :D

Congratulations to you both Lei!

I will look in my inventory to see if I have a dress that would work for you but I doublt it. I'll also keep an eye out for one when I go on a buying trip next weekend.

Sorry, your two months too late :D I'm an honest woman now!

I always drool over the lovely dresses on your site, unfortunately every one that I like, is WAY too small for me! That is always my problem :(

Lei

LOL, no problem! :D

Mind you, if you have anything similar to what I shown in the photos in my size (princess seamed and/or shelf bust, full skirt, I'd be greatful if you let me know as I wear them anyways. Although my waist is 30", I can go smaller to 26" as I wear a corset so if the bust fits but the waist is small, no prob!!
