What do you collect ?

Cheers Karin!

I do have an awful weakness for trashiness and kitsch.

And I'm loving reading about everyone's collections - this is such a great thread!

Hi! I'm new to the forum and from California

I collect;

Tiki mugs from the Islander in Stockton, CA (my hometown

Costume jewelry (Eisenberg, Trifari)

Le Creuset

and any vintage clothing that is my size that I can wear! My latest purchases are a Jacques Heim coat..

I wore an Emma Domb to my high school junior prom in 2002. (That's dating me, I'm a young one!)

and my latest obsession are Mr. John hats. I just got a paisley turban and have a neat cream fedora type in the mail.

Can't wait to read all the responses!

Sue said-"I have a memory shelf in my kitchen full of things either owned by my mother or things that say mother, plus some pictures of her through the years." How fabulous-I love that!

Like Kristine said...a list of what I don't collect would probably be easier to come up with.

I collect:

squirrels and old english sheepdogs -but they have to be unusual and fabulous
hands displays-dresser
50's circle skirts with applique, border prints or embroidery

gold charms-vintage, movable, stanhopes

For reselling I collect vintage deckchairs, windbreaks, picnic sets, bathing beauty ephemera, niknaks, and beachwear - I am constantly looking out for these ( obsessed!). For myself I really like old 1950s Devon pottery like Babbacombe pottery jugs with handpainted seagulls or blue plates with white dots. I do sell a few but my kitchen windowsill is full of them. I also like some of the Crown Devon Fieldings pottery designs and Beswick seagulls (to keep). I am also getting seriously keen on Horrockses dresses and am on the lookout for one to fit me (UK size 14 - if anyone has one for sale!). I think this is on the cusp of developing in to a new collecting addiction!!!

jeez where to begin?

costume jewellery
broken bling and beads
Portmerion Botanical garden range pottery
Mudmen figures for my Mum
Isle of wight glass
1930s green & blue vases deco styling
perfume bottles
Picture frames
art & arty postcards and greetings cards
