What is your favorite Audrey Hepburn movie?

Frankly, I think Cary Grant was never too old for any co-star.

I feel the same way about Sean Connery. One of my DDs and I argue about which one of us will wind up with him.

She has recently discovered Cary. Now, I have to share HIM with her too.

Thanks for posting that picture Lizzie, and ditto, Cherry Pie!
That's when men were men.

I loved Burt Lancaster as well as Cary Grant,Sean Connery, Gary Peck, although Lancaster could really go over the top sometimes. I had the biggest crush on him in Crimson Pirate. Still do.

I saw him on talk show a few years before he died. and he was reminiscing about beautiful women. He said he had been at a recent award show surrounded by nubile stars and an elderly Barbara Stanwyck. SOmeone asked who was the best looking. And he said looking around the table without a doubt it was Stanwyck who epitomized charm, grace and humor etc. It was a charming and seemingly sincere statement. He was then asked about Deborah Kerr and their kissing scene in From Here to Eternity. The host said she she commented once that all she could remember was the sand in her mouth. LAncaster's response was " It was sugar to me." Very sweet and gentlemanly.

Babblings over!

Is this where I tell you, OT, of course, that my Mom's cousin received Oscars for both "From Here to Eternity" and "Bonnie and Clyde?" He was the cinematographer. Burnett Guffey from a teeny-tiny little podunk town in Tennessee.

It was hard to vote - all are pretty wonderful.

It was odd that she became a star just as the leading men were changing over from one age group to another. Like Doris Day,she often played against leading men far older than she. Grant made it work, Bogart didn't. But I have read the Bogart was quite unhappy during the shooting of that film. He couldn't stand Willam Holden, and felt Hepburn had yet to pay her dues.

But Peck and Audrey - perfect. O'Toole and Audrey - wonderful.

Now I have a trivia question answer right at the VFG!

Alex Trebek:
"Name a relative of an Oscar winning cinematographer..."

Who is...Brenda!

That;s neat!!!

:)

I beg to differ with you on one thing though, Bren.
Cary Grant can star with anyone and be a lot older and not be out of place - AGREE, but I don't know about that Sean Connery/Catherine Zeta-Jones pairing. Kinda didn't work for me on the older actor/younger actress acceptability rating. But maybe they were just not on the same wavelength.
