Suits, suits, suits...... I was recently in the Hollywood area and could not help but aquire some fabulous suits! Suits are what brought me into the world of vintage, they are my weakness!

Here is a 1950s French white and black tweed suit that hugs the curves and cannot help but turn heads, cute detailing of notched jacket hem and tiny tweed bows.

    <img src="http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/30056787/Images/tweed50ssuit1.JPG">

This suit is unlike anything I have come across, a 1940s wool chalk pinstripe suit that for me just screams "girl friday" of Bugsy Siegel labeled a Mangone, Lizzie it's a Mangone that is not on the label resource, I will get it to you when I figure out the rules to do so.

Purrrrrr this 1960s dress and jacket suit is fairly classic and beautifully constructed as it is a Kay Walter but there is that wild kick, a leopard print fur collar. I believe it is pony with the leopard print.. Adds a touch of prowl to this timeless two piece

The ultimate "New Look" suit! This suit is heavy as it is comprised of a sculptural heavy twill with velvet accents including the French finished button holes. The skirt is very full and the jacket has the most beautiful S closure of buttons, it just seems to add so much style to it, that graceful S of buttons...

ANyway, I am not sure if others have my love for suits but thought I would share and brag a tad.. these will be listed hopefully in the next week or so on Vintagetrend on Ebay..

The shopping was SO fun Bonnie! I had more time then I thought I would. There is still a store in Seattle that is better then any of the places I visited and the thrift stores I visited did not bring about anything at all. But Advarks and Jet vintage stores were fun. I truly bought incredible designer modern stuff but some of the vintage was nice. I did think I would find more designer vintage though. I shopped everyday and never did get to melrose :( I just did not have the time... I am looking forward to going back as I made some great contacts! They had a huge heatwave and I was a tad grumpy but it was overall a really fun time!! Santa Barbara (made a day trip there) brought about most of the vintage that I did buy but that may be because I knew exactly where to go!

    Great time overall!

That pinstriped suit is fabulous! You could even show it with a dark tailored shirt and a colored tie for gun moll crowd.

I absolutely LOVE suits! It only saddens me that i don't have opportunity to wear all of them living in such a casual area as i live now and the weather being as it is. but i always love to find something good.

my favorite is one i own from 1949 with a great man tailored jacket and a long pencil skirt that i got from our own Stacey ( (heavensent)(hellbent) )
in blue. my second favorite is a 90s Escada with a Sargent Pepper-esque jacket and short skirt. I had a Lilli Ann once from the 40s but sold it because it was really too big for me and i couldn't stand to alter it being as pristine as it was. thought i should pass it along to someone who it fit last year.

Lovely, and I can't wait to see the Mangone label. Maichelle, you can either post it on the label board below, or email it to [email protected]

Yea, I am so glad to hear you all like the suits!
Ya know, sometimes when you are obsessed with a type of clothing you think you are the only one! I just LOVE suits for some reason!
Chris, you live in a casual area.... I do as well. Seattle was bad enough with the REI and mountianeer crowd but now that I am out in the boonies countryside I am beside myself with lack of suit wearing!
Every city I travel to gets to see me in a suit though! *smile*
I am hoping Hollis that the Gun Moll crowd sees the pinstripe. It slipped my mind to even use that wording or market it to them! I have yet to list it so perhaps I will change my marketing of it in the meantime.. thanks!
Kelly, what is evil is having these suits and not being able to wear them!!
Will send the Mangone off to you Lizzie or post it....
I think the suit trend is fabulous and I am stocking up for myself as well as designerTrend and Vintagetrend

Wow, yacked ya'lls ear off again!

Chris, you live in a casual area.... I do as well

At least people are casual there because they need to bundle up. We have just the opposite. its hot and humid in the beginning of August, or as the locals say "the weather is close". Even if i wanted to wear a suit, it just wouldn't be a comfortable state of affairs.

Gun Moll crowd sees the pinstripe

    Er, I think that's me :D

I've just bought two 50s suits, with the excuse that I'll need them for work in the autumn. Specious justification, much?

Louise, the bust on the new look suit is a 42 if I remember correctly.. Just listed the New Look suit! I just love having the delight of handling such items.

I think your justifacation is fabulous! I do the same thing all the time. I love to shop and thus this business is perfect for me! AND my closets stay to a minimum when I am buying for others! *smile*
