What type of fur is this coat?

Hello! Would you all be able to help me identify this fur? Also am I correct that this coat is a 1940s?

Hello, Can you show a photo of the back of it, the lining, and any labels it has please?

Absolutely! Here is a picture I had taken of the back, but I will need to pull out my camera and get pictures of the lining which is that rusty red colored silk, which has deepened in color with age in some places. There are no other labels. Thank you very much for your help!!

Thank you. Your description of the lining is good enough. Later 40s sounds right and it looks like let out and scalloped Horse hair.

Well that's a first, I've never seen a horse hair coat before!
Westfirst, I'd love to see a close of those buttons if you don't mind? I love the cuff shaping detail.
