What type of fur is this??

I recently bought a vintage fur coat from an online thrift shop but I am not sure exactly what kind of fur it is. There are no tags on it specifying what kind it is made out of and I cannot really tell just by looking at it. I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to fur, but I am thinking it might either be Fox or Coyote fur. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks:)

Coyote is stiff and was used a lot in the early 90's , I sold new coats then . I think wolf is rare and was only used on garments made where wolves were plentiful and it is darker .

Actually Coyote and Wolf are similar furs. In fact, Coyotes are also known as Prairie Wolves. Generally Coyotes have creme fur mixed with tan or grey. Wolves are a variety of colors; white, black, gray, tan, and brown grizzled colors. Wolf fur is not as popular as some other fur types but I do not consider it to be rare.

Here is a photo of the back of the coat. After doing some research on Google images, I think that you might be right about it being wolf fur. Although it does kind of look like Coyote a little bit as well. Now that you've said Wolf and Coyote fur are really similar I'm really not sure what it is now haha.

Thank you for that additional photo. It still looks like the front though just with the edges together so it's closed, no?
Either way, the coloring displays differently in the photos you provided. The full jacket photo in your initial post shows more of a gray appearance making it look more like Gray Wolf. The coloring in the last photo shows much more of a creamy beige appearance to me making it look more like Coyote.
