Will the real LV please stand up?

Okay, it's a good day when you find a Burberry and it will be even better if this is a real LV. It was purchased from a doctor's wife years ago and she swore it was real - but knocks offs are a dime a dozen; so...

I think this is known as epi leather. It's about the size of a doctors bag. All the hardwear has LV or Louis Vitton (inside and out, or both sides...). It would have come with a lock, but the original lock was not there when purchased. It has LV impression on the one side. The inside is unlined and has one canvas side pocket with matching leather trim. The stitching is what I would expect from a top of the line bag.

What do you think? And would anyone know when this style came out?

As always, MANY THANKS!

Thanks, Lizzie. I did search for a while this morning and I think it's a fake:no:

It's called a Boston bag or Speedy bag. It does have a number, but they are usually found under the inside canvas pocket - on this one the number appears on the opposite side. There is also an outside patch pocket on the genuine ones and piping on the edges - this one has none. The stamping of the name on the tab is also not as sharp.

But the good news is, I have a genuine Burberry; so all is not lost!

:D
