Windsmore tweed jacket

Hello all
I have a Windsmore tweed jacket which I think was my nans (she passed away 20 years ago) . It has a Made in England label and also a style and size label inside of jacket.
It’s a 12 - more like a modern day 8 I would say. Can anyone help me date it pls? Late 60s early 70s maybe and what it may be worth - I am looking to sell as it doesn’t fit anyone.
Thanks

Hello, and welcome to the VFG forums! Per forum rules, we are unable to suggest pricing or value - that would take a hands-on evaluation by a certified appraiser.

I did a bit of looking around and I see that Windsmoor opened its doors in 1939 and seems to have specialized in classic non-trendy women's wear, which makes dating a bit harder. The overall silhouette and labels suggest 70s to me. Hopefully with a bump, we'll get some other opinions.

The labeling looks more 90s to me
I wasn't quite sure what to make of the care and content labels. But it didn't look like there were any of the more recent Ginetex care symbols. And when I did a search on gem.app, the more obviously recent jackets had more obviously recent labels.

But you may be right.

Some UK insight.

Is the Debenhams label actually from the same garment? Because it says size 10 and the other label 12. It looks much more recent than the other labels. And a Debenhams / Windmoor collaboration seems a bit unlikely, although not impossible. The lining appears a different colour although that could be a trick of the light.

I like Windsmoor, they make good quality classic type clothes, and this is a nice example of that. They don’t set the world on fire but it’s a label I rate and would buy for my own use. I would absolutely buy this jacket if it were my size.

Note the pattern matching and symmetry, it’s been done pretty well. Are the buttons real leather? If so and they are all there, thats another good thing. On the downside it’s not pure wool.

That gold/black hanger loop I very much associate with the 70s, I’ve seen it over and over in that era. If my hunch is correct that the Debenhams label is here by mistake, then I’d say 70s, maybe 80s.

As for pricing, your comparables are other mid range women’s tweed jackets from quality UK High Street brands.

It won’t sell for the price of a Harris Tweed jacket or the big heritage brands like Burberry or Aquascutum.
