Wool mix trench coat

    Hi, could anybody tell me what year they think this coat may be from... I’ve asked on a military forum and have been told that it’s not military but they consider it to be later than 1969 Due to GINETEX not being adopted in UK until then.

    I would appreciate the help, thank you!

    Based purely on the labels, I'd say 70s or 80s. later labels usually have some kind of drying symbol, and so 5 care symbols not 4.

    Also I'm not sure how long 'mixed fibres' was used as a fibre content. Just a hunch but I would think at some point regulations tightened and manufacturers had to be more precise.

    And UK manufacturing began to tail off...

    None of the above is conclusive. I hope someone else will weigh in based in the style of the coat, which has me stumped.

    I like the collar button detail.

    I'm thinking 70s in the style of 30s/40s.

    What are the shoulder pads made of? Are the spongy to squeeze?
