I've had this for a while and always thought it was 70's - but as I did a little research on YSL I see that it's similar in feeling to a couple of his late 60's collections (safari/le smoking eras) ~ What do you think? Thanks! Carolyn
YSL introduced the Rive Gauche ready-to-wear label in 1966, so it isn't any earlier than that. I'm not sure how the label design morphed over the years. I find trenches so hard to date because they're generally so classic. Beautiful coat!
I think it's safe to say it's between '68 - '72 or so... so that would make it 60's I made a terrible/great discovery when I was measuring it yesterday - it fits me. It looks so small that when I measured the bust at 40", I thought nah, that can't be right -but tried it on and ~ voila! So it's going on the block, but I won't be too too terribly upset if it doesn't sell. Thanks for your help, Carolyn
