My pleasure, Dinah. Posting here on the forums is the best way to get information from our many knowledgable members. Majorica pearls are imitation and made out of glass. They have been made for over 100 years and are actually pretty desirable because they are such great imitations. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but the coating used over the glass bead used to be made from fish scales. It's hard to date these because spring-ring clasps have been around for well over 100 years, but I get the feeling from the box and the design that they're mid-century, maybe 1950 or so. Someone else will probably come along and give you a better estimation of date. Are there any markings on the necklace or box?
